Question Setters' Area

In previous Committee Meetings, the Chairman has posed the question - 'How do we get people to read the question setting guidelines?' He even touched on the matter in his statement at the last AGM.

In spite of him sending letters to question setters referring them to the guidelines, it is clear that they are either not being read or disregarded. He is of the opinion that we are still getting too many quizzes where, amongst other things, answers are clearly wrong, questions are badly worded or badly balanced or contain incorrect information and too many rounds are producing multiple 'fried eggs'.

This page is a dedicated area for Question Setters. It has links to the Question Setting guidelines, all objections decided by the Committee and all identified examples of where the guidelines have not been followed.

This is not intended to be a 'name and blame' exercise but simply a way of assisting teams in avoiding the common pitfalls of question setting. We all make mistakes but we need to find ways of minimizing them and make our quizzes more enjoyable for everyone.
